thought would ask here, does anyone know what model of the amd Radeon RX 7900 XT ie reference, sapphire, xfx etc that pc specialists would supply,
spoke to live chat who said they think would be xfx but not sure,
just that it’s about £800 for the rx7900 xt gpu from pcs but can get the Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro+ Vapor-X from elsewhere for £730,
It's a pot luck of whatever they have in stock, but won't be a premium model like a Sapphire.

IMHO, personally I would probably buy elsewhere and fit my own when it comes to AMD GPU's, the reference models had an issue with the cooling fins that caused circulation issues and overheating for one. Plus as you say, prices are cheaper elsewhere.

Cheers for that, good to know I’m on the correct path going for the build without gpu and getting the Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro+ Vapor-X to fit,
To add my own gpu is it just a case of installing the gpu and downloading drivers online,
And could anything go wrong with this process,

Installing a GPU is very easy.

Plug it into the PCIe slot, screw in the screw securing it to the case at the port inputs side.

Connect the required PCIe power cables from the PSU

Boot up and install drivers.

Something can always go wrong if you don't know what you're doing, but just take the time and watch videos before doing it so you're prepared.

Sapphires are still one of the best for AMD GPU's always have been, when I was on AMD GPU's I always bought Sapphires and never had an issue.

But what make and model monitor are you pairing it with? Is it just for gaming?

Thanks for the info appreciate it, will start watching videos to get prepared,
it will be for sim racing, 120Hz TV and VR,

What resolution TV?

if you’re doing VR you don’t want an AMD card, they’re not great for VR
4k tv,
ah, have mentioned few times in posts build is for sim racing VR but not heard this before,
what gpu would you suggest, around same price as gpu was going to get £730,

here is build getting:
Case: CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard: ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6)
Memory: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Power Supply: CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ - MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
DeepCool AK620 ZERO DARK High-Performance Dual Tower CPU Cooler

Ah, it's because there's loads of different threads, it's best to stick on one thread otherwise things get confused.

For VR you definitely want nVidia but you won't get anything suitable at the budget for 4k 120Hz, you'd need a minimum of a 4080 Super which is £1100 at PCS or around £1000 if bought elsewhere for a cheapy model.

At £730, a 4070ti super would be over budget, so it would be a 4070 Super which is a 1440p card.

The Quest 3 is 2064 x 2208 x 2 displays and you want to average around 90fps for most games to avoid motion sickness. That's actually just over 4k resolution.

It would unquestionably need to be a decent nvidia card, especially for Sim Racing which is very resource intensive anyway. It would need to be a 4080 Super as a minimum.

the closest 4070ti can see thats still cheaper than a pcs supplied radeon rx7900xt (although dearer than planned Sapphire 7900xt) are these below,
what one in your opinion would be best:

Gainward GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Phoenix 16GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics £769.99 (incl. VAT)

Gainward GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER PANTHER OC 16GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics £769.99 (incl. VAT)

Zotac GeForce RTX 4070Ti Trinity OC 12GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics Card £769.99 (incl. VAT)

Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER GamingPro 16GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics Card £779.99 (incl. VAT)

MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 2X OC 16GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics £799.99 (incl. VAT)

Zotac GeForce RTX 4070 TI Super Trinity Black 16Gb Graphics Card £799.99 (incl. VAT)

Again, it’s not powerful enough, you’d need a minimum of a 4080 super

At this level I would opt for the H100x/i cooler to get the most out of the CPU.

You can forego the extra case fans, I wouldn't bother with them with an AIO in place. Offsets the cost nicely.

Other than that it looks decent. The 4070 Ti Super will do well with VR, it won't push the most for 4K but as long as you manage your expectations on eye candy and frame rate you'll be fine :)
